Kaala Movie Faces Both Political And Legal Issue before Release

Rajinikanth's film 'Kaala Karikala' is accused plagiarism by filmmaker K Rajashekaran. The film is bankrolled by actor Dhanush's Wunderbar Films and is directed by Pa Ranjith, The film is about a don, who fights for Tamil immigrants in Mumbai.

A court in Chennai on Thursday sought the response of superstar Rajinikanth and others on a petition by a producer claiming that the title and story of the actor’s upcoming flick ‘Kaala Karikala’ belonged to him. Assistant City Civil Judge R K P Tamilarasi issued notice to Rajinikanth, the director and producer of the movie and South Indian Film Chamber of Commerce to file their replies by June 15.
